Today we will be taking a look at the E7 standing desk made by FlexiSpot. In this review, we’ll dive into the features, the configuration options, the benefits, and overall performance of this workstation.

What sets the E7 apart is its seamless transition between sitting and standing modes, thanks to its smooth electric dual motor height adjustment system. An ergonomic, adjustable standing desk like the E7 can mitigate the discomfort associated with prolonged sitting, while also improving productivity.

Key Features

  • Quiet and Smooth Dual Motor system
  • Weight Capacity: 160KG
  • Thicker 3 Stage Leg Columns
  • Carbon Steel base structure
  • Collision Detection
  • Easy assembly
  • 4 Memory preset
  • Child Lock

  • 7 Year Warranty

Packaging & Assembly

The desktop and frame are delivered in two large and heavy separate parcels. The frame components are meticulously packaged and table top has nice thick padding and cardboard to protect the surface and corners during shipping

The assembly is an easy process with clear easy to follow instructions, all bolts are labelled to correspond with each step in the manual making it quick and easy to setup. The entire frame is assembled with bolts and a single included Allen key. Although to attach the desktop you will need your own screw driver as it’s not included. The bottom plastic feet are removable so you can easy add the optional casters. The total build process is straight forward and will take around 30minutes to complete. After that all that’s left to do is plug in the power and setup the desk.

Control Panel

The height is controlled by the touch control panel and this is easy to operate. On the left it has manual height adjustment arrows for up and down motion, a lockout and memory button, in the middle there’s the digital display which shows the current height setting, and on the right there’s 4 memory preset buttons where we can set and store height adjustment for a handy one touch sitting or standing height. At the side of the touch panel there’s also a useful USB port for charging devices.

Dual Motor

The dual motor system on the E7 desk can lift 160kg and it has more than enough power to lift and accommodate a PC, heavy monitor and other accessories placed on top of the desk. The 3 stage leg design and motion of the motors is super smooth and very quiet, the speed slows slightly towards the end of the adjustment, for a smooth end stop.

Frame Structure

The E7 has a symmetrical T frame structure with a center cross beam, and a cable tray which holds the wiring for the motors and the control box keeping them neatly hidden. There’s enough room inside the tray to pass through additional cables for monitors or other accessories. Although with the cross beam and the cable tray right in the center of the underside of the desk, I did find while sitting at the desk the cable tray is close to your knees.

Height Range

The desk has an excellent range of height adjustment, from the lowest setting at 58cm, to the highest setting at 123cm. This give plenty adjustment in-between for a comfortable sitting or standing position.

Lowest Setting 58cm vs Highest Setting 123cm

Configuration Options

The E7 can be configured in either a black or white frame, and there’s options for 4 different chipboard desktops in black, white, wood finishes or a bamboo table top, all in various sizes.

We’re using the Black frame with the largest Bamboo work top that measures 182x76cm. The bamboo top is a nice looking and durable all-natural surface that has a water resistance lacquer making it moisture-proof, insect-resistant, and scratch-proof. The large size has ample space for monitors, a keyboard, and other essentials devices, ensuring everything is within reach. The base frame can also be purchased separately if you want to add your own table top.

Stability

Taking a look at the stability of the desk, at its lower sitting settings the desk is extremely solid and stable and it can easy handle a direct drive wheel base for gaming. As it extends to the higher positions the stability is good but it does slightly decrease, saying that it’s still perfectly fine for typing and general computing tasks.

User Experience & Final Thoughts

The FlexiSpot E7 Standing Desk has exceptional performance and its ability to effortlessly set the perfect height has been excellent and enjoyable to use. The smooth and quiet operation of the lifting mechanism ensures minimal disruption to workflow, while the intuitive control panel makes adjusting the desk height a breeze.

Whether standing for a quick brainstorming session or sitting down for focused work or gaming, the FlexiSpot E7 quickly adapts to the user’s needs. Overall the FlexiSpot E7 Standing Desk has been a joy to use whether in sitting and standing mode and it’s a highly recommended desk for anyone looking to upgrade their workspace.
