Why do we need a filament Dryer? Wet 3D printing filament can result in stringing, clogging, poor adhesion, and layer shifting. The Creality Space Pi Filament Dryer solves these issues by drying the filament during the printing process itself, improve your 3D model quality and minimizing the influence of external environmental factors on the printing of 3D filaments.
Key Features

- Print directly from dryer – uses as enclosed spool holder
Design and Specs Overview
The Creality Space Pi Filament dryer has a nice modern design which looks great next to any printer. It also suits and works well with the newer Ender 3 models and the flagship K series printers.
The dryer quickly heats with a built-in fan, circulating hot air 360° for uniform heating, effectively drying moisture filaments and improving printing results.Unlike most filament dryers that use a heating pad and often result in uneven drying, this model with the PTC heater ensures uniform drying.
At the front the display touch panel has a temperature settings for different filament types, supporting up to 12 types of filaments, including common and high-performance composite like PLA-CF,PA-CF, ASA. Of course, you can also freely adjust the temperature between 45°C and 70°C.
The heating duration can be freely set from 0-48 hours, allowing the filaments to be fully dried for better printing results. After turning off, the machine can still remember your previous material and temperature settings, eliminating the need for resetting and allowing for quick drying.
At the back there a detachable power cord and the power switch. The lid opens from the top and it can hold one spool of filament. Inside the filament sits on two rollers on bearings, and there’s a handy small port with a plug at the top for passing filament through a Teflon tube which allow it to dry filament while being used for printing.
How to Use
The operation is super easy, just plug it in, turn it on. Load a spool of filament and select the the material type. It will automatically set the best temperature, it can still be manually adjusted if needed. Then set the drying time. Typically for PLA I was setting the temp to 45c and the drying time to 4hrs. If your printing from the dryer, filament is passed through the small port on the top and through a teflon tube. Then start printing!

Final Thoughts
Using the machine there was a visible improvement of printing results and reduced webbing on prints. Whats impressive is the dryer managed to revive a spool of brittle 6 year old PLA filament. I’ve also noted even some brand new sealed filament isn’t completely dry, so this machine has become an essential part of my 3D printing steps.
What could be better: I do wish the touch screen was better as sometimes it isn’t the most responsive and the units fans are a little loud. Other than that its a great little dryer that just works.
Overall it does a great job, it warms up very quickly, reduce the relative humidity efficiently and drys your filament. The Space Pi Filament dryer is a must have for anyone who is serious about 3D printing and is looking for the best print quality.
