After using some basic 3D printed markers for a while, I decided to upgrade and expand my set to something a bit better, so I picked up the scanning Marker Block Kit from Revopoint, and I’m glad I did.

Unboxing the Revopoint 3D Scanning Marker Kit
When the kit arrived, I was immediately impressed by the quality, they are way better than basic small 3D Printed ones I’ve been using.
The set comes neatly organized in a box with protective foam, which keeps the markers safe and easy to access. But if you’re like me and have collected a few extra scanning accessories, you might want to consider getting a hard case to store everything in one place.

What’s Inside the Kit?
The Scanning Marker Block Kit includes a variety of markers to suit different scanning scenarios:
- 10 Ball markers
- 10 Half-dome markers
- 4 Pyramid markers
- 4 Bar markers
- 500 x 6mm (10mm outer) Marker dots

The matte black finish on the ball, dome, and pyramid markers is a nice touch, and the marker dots are pre-applied which you know if your 3D printed your own before it take a bit of time to apply all the stickers.
Plus, the magnets on the bottom let you easily attach the markers to metal surfaces.

Customizable and Flexible Setup
What really good about the bar markers is the versatility. The bar markers have magnetic strips on all sides, making it simple to add or remove ball makers, adjust and reposition them as needed. And you can always add some marker dots. The M6 mounting points on the ends of the bars allow you to attach them to any M6 thread, or even stack them. This feature works particularly well with the optional Revopoint Dual-Axis Turntable.

However, if you’re using a manual turntable like I do, you can easily modify the setup. I designed and made 3D printed custom base for the bars, which let me use them upright for scanning taller or narrower objects.

The pyramid markers are super handy part of this kit. They allow you to lift objects off the scanning surface, making it much easier to scan the sides and access those hard-to-reach areas. This is especially useful for editing files later, as it reduces the need for extra cleanup in post-processing.

Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?
In short, yes. The 3D Scanning Marker Block Kit from Revopoint is a great upgrade for anyone serious about 3D scanning or wanting to expand a basic 3D printed set. Sure, they aren’t cheap, but they’re well made and you have all the essential markers you need for different types of scans ready to go in one package.
