Design
K1C 3d printer is made from die-cast aluminum alloy frame, giving it a solid and clean modern look. This is enclosed with acrylic panels at the sides, a plastic top lid and glass front hinged door with a magnetic latch
The 3d printer combines a nimble Core XY motion with a lightweight print head for less motion of inertia and this allows it to achieve impressive print speeds of upto 600mm/s. With the typical printing speed is 300mm/s.
At the front we have an excellent responsive 4.3” color touch screen for menu navigation and printer control.
It’s a nice looking printed which is perfect for studios, workshops or the office.
Assembly
Assembly is easy with only a few steps need for the setup. Assembly takes 10 minutes at most. The printer comes with everything you need to get started, including tool, USB stick with setup instructions and software, and a spool of white Hyper PLA.
On the initial first power up the printer will run through the setup process. Then self-diagnosis system will check and test the printers operation. This tests the fans, the hot end and the print bed heating circuit. Once this is complete the input shaping control is carried out via acceleration sensors to optimize tuning and print quality. The printer will then measure and set the print bed level automatically.
Prints
The pre sliced test file is the benchy boat this is printed with the included Hyper PLA sample.
The finished benchy printed in 17m and the final print turned out well
For the next print we are using some PLA_CF to make a functional part for the 3D printer. The side mount spool holder is printed with PLA-CF. The carbon fiber reinforced PLA is a material that has excellent strength, stiffness and a nice matte surface finish.
This next print is of a Twist container model and this printed with the Blue Hyper PLA at 300mm/s. The Creality Hyper PLA is designed for high speed printing, and faster cooling while retaining high precision. The finished print turned out well and the Hyper PLA produces clean, strong and high quality prints.
Final Thoughts
After using the K1C I’ve found it to meet expectations with its speed and print quality. It’s an excellent printer that looks great and works perfectly out of the box. It’s easy to setup, great for small to medium sized prints and for making rapid prototypes.
At full speed the fans are a bit loud but it’s a small compromise compared to the all benefits this printer gives.
It’s an easy to operate machine and the included Creality Print software is user friendly for slicing models, remote monitoring and being able to send files via Wi-Fi to the printer is another big plus.
Overall I’m impressed with the K1C usability, build quality, prints produced, and the print speed that saves time. It’s well suited for beginners or advanced users looking for a high quality, fast and easy to use 3d printer.
